What the blended average hides

Don’t trust a single blended rate — ~60% of contracts are low‑rate community/admin gigs at about $7–15/hr while most of the dollar spend is concentrated in ~3–5 technical retainers at $30–50/hr, so the money is unevenly distributed between cheap ongoing ops work and a few higher‑paid developer/SEO roles.

Treatment verdict

How they hire, and how they treat people

Early-stage UK wellness marketplace that hires lots of part‑time community/social help plus periodic Webflow/SEO and developer retainers.

Reputation

High. Clear communication, prompt feedback, collaborative direction, and repeat/ongoing work with people who meet expectations.

How they engage

Mostly short, task‑oriented contracts and micro fixed‑price jobs, with a handful of multi‑month hourly retainers for development/SEO; the buyer rehires a few trusted freelancers across tech and platform work.

Working style

Provides specific briefs, stays communicative and hands-on during a contract, expects measurable outcomes and may push for rework or rapid iterations if targets aren’t met.

Who wins the work

Best for freelancers comfortable with early‑stage startups: be flexible, able to handle iterative product/ops tasks, and available for UK‑hours part‑time work; technical specialists who can own deliverables and handoffs do especially well.

Repeat hires

Rehires the same freelancers — 4 on 2+ repeat contracts (one up to 5). Deliver once and there's recurring work.

Worth knowing

Consistently posts many small fixed‑price purchases ($16–$500) alongside larger hourly retainers, indicating frequent micro‑scoped work.
